  • Scholarships

The William Armstrong Scholarship Award was established initially for High School Seniors who were pursuing an education of higher learning with the intent of entering the recreational marine field, or has already obtained a position in the filed and requires funding for tools or the like. It now also applies to employees costs for basic marine courses such as offered through MMTA at Massasoit or Mass. Maritime Academy.

This past year the Grant was increased to a maximum of $1,500 to better reflect current costs.

One recent award was given to Arthur Ross for $250 – the cost of the basic boating course he took at Massasoit. He's presently employed at Marina Bay.

For 2003, the following awards were announced:

    Scott Stevens—$1,500 scholarship to NEIT
    Daniel Green—$1,500 scholarship to NEIT
    Edward Peters—$1,500 scholarship to NEIT
